PRINCIPAL JIM PECK

Hello!

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year at Clinton Junior High School. I am beyond blessed to serve as the principal of this school. I am extremely excited to welcome all of our students back to in-person learning for the 2021-22 school year! Parents, I want you to know how much it means to me that you are entrusting the education of your student with us.

I am going to start this paragraph with the same words I used in my welcome letter last year. Those words are: “this school year is going to come with challenges.” While all years have their challenges, we could say that there is nothing more challenging perhaps than what we experienced last school year, which is now extending into this school year. However, If I’ve learned one thing about being a Clinton Maroon these last three years, it's that when times are difficult, we persevere and learn how to come away stronger than ever. I am excited to see how we work through these challenging times ahead, together.

This year we are planning on bringing back as many opportunities to connect in-person we possibly can. Some examples of this would be our back to school cookout to begin the year, and in-person parent teacher conferences. However, I still encourage you to connect with your student’s teachers in other ways. All teachers are available to chat over email, phone calls, and other digital means like Zoom and Google Meets. Many of our teachers also connect with families through social media like Twitter and Instagram. If you don’t already, please follow the CJHS Facebook page, or my Instagram page @mrpeckcjhs for updates from our building, news from classrooms, and highlights of what our students and staff are doing here at CJHS.

I am looking forward to a great year with all of you. I encourage you all to live each day in the present. We can only control what is in front of us, each and every day. I promise I will work every day to serve our school community and help provide the best education for each of our students. If I can help in any way this school year, please reach out by phone 217-935-2103, or by email at jpeck@cusd15.org.

With Maroon Pride,

Mr. Jim Peck
