I want to take a minute and introduce you to our new Head Football Coach Ron Bass. We are very excited to have him leading our football program into the future.
Coach Ron Bass has been the defensive coordinator for the Tri-Valley Vikings (2013, 2015-2020) compiling a 66-16 record as DC of the Vikings. While at Tri-Valley he helped the Vikings win three Heart of Illinois Conference championships (2013, 15, 16), State Championship (2015) and State Runner-up (2013). He helped to orchestrate an IHSA state record for sacks in a championship game in 2015 with nine. He earned a BS in education from Illinois State University in 2002 and a MS in Exercise Physiology from Illinois State University in 2010 where he published research on the effects of physical fitness on academic performance. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and The American College of Sports Medicine. His teaching experience includes sixteen years at Bloomington Junior High School as a physical educator and two years at Unit 5’s Hudson Elementary School and one year at Putnam County High School. While a physical educator he has served in various leadership roles and involved in writing curriculum for physical education. He currently lives in Downs with his wife (Laura) and three children (Noah, Josh and Campbell). He enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports and going to Chicago Cubs games.
